The Elisabet Cruises Fleet

The newest member of the Elisabet Cruises fleet is the majestic "Sophia Star", a beautiful vessle that began its life on the 27th September 1955 as a fishing boat.

The ship has had a number of different owners over the years, and has undergone a number of modifications, making it a complete cruise ship, rather than the fishing boat that it started out as.

On the 2nd May 2000, the "Sophia Star" was listed as being "Listed Historic Monument" by the Ministry of Culture's Committee on Modern Monuments. The ship is one that is an interesting example of a wooden ship, which provides great historic interest and importance to the history of shipping in Greece.

The continued existence and maintenance are an investment in Greece's cultural heritage which has been received by us and with which we have a duty to hand down to future generations.
